Cholena has spent most of her life living on Kabbi-Kabbi/Gubbi-Gubbi Country (the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay region). Drawing on her surroundings for inspiration, her artworks resemble elements of the bush, the beach and beyond. Her years of study at both TAFE and University have extended her knowledge and practise of both traditional and contemporary ways of creating art. By re-interpreting what is seen and felt Cholena creates artworks that offer a glimpse of reality and imagination.

Cholena enjoys exploring many processes and mediums in her artworks, and specialises in cyanotypes. Each piece of art created has been inspired by the natural environment which is always stimulating new creativeness in her vocabulary of mark making.
